Bhubaneswar: South Korean steel major Posco approached Cabinet committee on investment to facilitate in providing Prospecting Licence (PL) for captive mines in Odisha. PL is the first process for developing mines.
Posco India find it difficult to start construction work of the proposed steel plant in Jagatsinghpur district of Odisha due to various reason. Land acquisition and local people's stir has been the major huddle for this project. Though MOU for the project signed before 9 years ago even land accusation never completed. Odisha promised the company to give captive mine but various effort by state government and company never fruitful yet. Complicated PL granting policy now forced posco to stop construction work.
